This mask emerged from the idea of bringing together two powerful symbols of European history - the figure of the doctor confronting the unknown, and the image of the woman whose knowledge lies beyond what was once considered acceptable. The archetype of the plague doctor represents an attempt to bring order through science. The witch embodies an intuitive understanding of the world, rooted in nature and ritual. Together, they form a contrasting yet unified structure where logic meets mystery.
The entire surface of the mask is covered with engraving - alchemical diagrams, magical circles, and portraits inspired by myths of witches. These images do not illustrate a specific legend - they convey the spirit of hidden knowledge passed through symbol. Special attention is given to the central element - the third eye, positioned precisely at the forehead when the mask is worn. This symbol reflects the idea of inner vision, a shift from observation to understanding.
The leather is dense, richly textured, and well-suited for hand-shaping. After engraving, the surface was treated with wax and pigments to deepen the sense of age and dimension. Every stage - from leather selection to final toning - was completed by hand.
The mask does not imitate historical forms, nor is it a replica or decorative souvenir - it is an original object where form, narrative, and material merge into a single symbol.
